AI gave Fritz Lang’s Metropolis new life in 2023. Artists used machine learning to restore and color the 1927 sci-fi classic frame by frame. The result is bold and imaginative, though I believe the technology has already advanced enough to go further. With expert refinement and newer tools like BigColor and NoGAN, a much more compelling version may now be possible. Watch the color version →
