Leonardo's Cave

Archaeologists in Milan have confirmed a network of hidden tunnels beneath Sforza Castle after tracing a 15th-century sketch by Leonardo da Vinci. Once dismissed as imaginative, his drawing aligned precisely with the castle’s foundations when mapped by ground-penetrating radar and laser scanning. Some corridors may reach toward Santa Maria delle Grazie, home of The Last Supper. Researchers plan to create a 3D digital twin of the site, inviting visitors to explore Leonardo’s buried geometry and proving how his vision still illuminates the boundaries between art, science, and architecture.
