Sochi Forever

T.J. Oshie of the Washington Capitals just announced his retirement — 14 NHL seasons, a 2018 Stanley Cup, and a legendary Olympic shootout that made him unforgettable: USA vs. host Russia at the 2014 Sochi Games. It wasn’t the final but it felt like one: Oshie took six attempts, scored four goals—calm, focused, unshakable. The Ovechkin–Backstrom–Oshie line was a classic. His later years brought chronic back pain, but he kept showing up. Now he co-leads Warroad, creating safety gear for youth players after a friend’s tragic death. He earned his legend on the ice. Now he’s using it to protect kids. Great legacy. Watch the shootout →
